A Bedtime Repair
25 July, 21Category: electronics
My daughter has a small sound machine that plays white noise/crackling camp fires etc. It has been playing up recently and originally I thought it was the power connector but this evening it completely stopped.
Being into electronics, I decide to open it and see if I can fix it. This is going on while she sits patiently waiting for me to fix it before going to bed. Challenge accepted.
It turns out that there was a small power connection board that was soldered on edge to the main board. This soldered joint had failed and was the reason for the intermittent, and now total, failure. A quick re-flow of the solder and job done. Happy kid goes to bed, happy Dad hasn't got to buy another thing#100daystooffload
