New Year Resolution

04 January, 22

Category: linux

Another new year is upon us and so are the obligatory life changes that are going to solve all our problems. I don’t announce any new year resolutions as I hardly ever stick to them, however, I have thought of something that could be appropriate.

I’ve decided to stop distro-hopping and settle down with my current distro that is openSUSE Leap 15.3. I’ve used openSUSE on and off probably more than any other distro. The challenge I have set myself is to try and stay on Leap for a whole year. I will allow myself to swap out to the next release of Leap (15.4) which is due in June.

I have been using Leap for a few weeks now and I’ve found it to be one of the only distros that doesn’t flag an error on my AMD GPU laptop with regards to the backlight. Maybe this is something to do with AMD sponsoring openSUSE? Who knows but it is nice not to have systemd moaning at every boot.
